Favorite Gardening, Harvest and Storage Tips!
Pest Control:  "Beneficial Nematodes" are the best defense against all kinds of grubs and cutworms, borers and weevils, and even fleas!  They are microscopic and attack the grubs that live in the ground.  Dilute them into water and spray them in the early summer with your hose end sprayer.  By reducing the number of grubs in the ground you will also discourage moles!       Joan Peters of Yellow Dog Farm

Slug Control: Ashes!  Slugs won't cross a line of ashes.  Burn a strip around your veggies using a roofing or propane torch.  A windrow of dried weeds to burn around the perimeter also works well.  Repeat when the ashes begin to fade.

Growing: "Put the seed in the ground and pray!"
Fertilizing: Lots of Horse manure.
